ONE-ON-ONE · IN-HOME & ONLINE

Healing happens in the whole person

Whether you're coming home after surgery, a stroke, or a hospital stay, or living with pain that won't settle... we start with where it hurts, then look at everything connected to it.

Registered Physio · Certified Yoga Therapist · 20+ years

Start where you are.

Every path begins the same way: a conversation about what's going on for you.

IN YOUR HOME

When something big has changed.

Coming home after a joint replacement, a fall, a stroke, or a hospital stay can change how everything feels, even getting around your own space. I come to you, so you can rebuild strength and confidence where life actually happens.

  • Hip or knee replacement

  • Coming home from hospital

  • Recovering from a fall or major injury

  • Adjusting to a new diagnosis, like Parkinson's or MS

Looking for support for a parent or loved one? You're in the right place.

ONLINE, WHEREVER YOU ARE

When you’re ready for something deeper.

Maybe it's pain that's been nagging for a while and keeps coming back. Or maybe you're simply curious about how your body moves and what it's capable of. Either way, you're ready to look at the whole picture.

  • Pain that won't settle

  • Patterns that keep resurfacing

  • A goal you're working toward (a trip, a trail, getting stronger)

  • Curiosity about how your body works

IN-HOME PHYSIOTHERAPY IN MUSKOKA

Rebuilding where life actually happens.

When something big changes, the whole you has to heal, not just one part.

After a fall, stroke, or hospital stay

Coming home can make even familiar spaces feel uncertain. Together, you'll rebuild strength and confidence moving through your own home.

Available in Muskoka. In-home sessions include a travel fee. Physiotherapy may be covered by your insurance (pay first, then claim).

When your body’s changing

Settling into a new diagnosis, like Parkinson's or MS, brings a lot of questions. I'll help you stay active, keep doing what matters, & understand the changes as they happen.

I follow the exercises and protocols set by your medical team, then we look at the whole picture together.

→ How your breathing has shifted

→ Where you might be holding or working harder than you need to

→ How a sore shoulder might be connected to that new knee.

Sessions happen wherever you feel most comfortable: your couch, your bed, your hallway, your stairs.

Looking into support for someone you love?

Many of my in-home clients come to me through their family or their hospital rehab team. You're welcome to reach out on their behalf to start the conversation.

After a new hip or knee

Years of living with a painful joint teach your body clever workarounds. Learning to notice those patterns helps you get the most out of your new joint.

A way of moving that blends the clinical reasoning of physiotherapy into yoga-inspired movement, so you start to learn how you move.

ONLINE PHYSIOTHERAPY & YOGA THERAPY

Where it hurts isn’t the whole story.

If you’ve spent years focusing on the sore spots, it might be time to get curious about the rest of you.

what else joins in when you move

Notice

Sometimes moving your shoulder changes how your knee feels, and I can't always tell you exactly why. There's something beautifully mysterious about the body. You don't need the full explanation to feel the difference.

WHY ONLINE WORKS

You become the one who feels it

I moved my practice online during COVID and noticed something I didn't expect. Without my hands on you, you start tuning in to your own body.

You find your own words for it

“Sticky.” “Like a solid block.” Every word you find is you learning your body's language, and trusting what you feel.

All you need is a laptop or tablet and a bit of floor space.
You'll get simple setup instructions before your first session.
In Ontario, sessions are physiotherapy and may be covered by insurance. Outside Ontario, they're yoga therapy. Same session, same approach.

It starts before your first session.

WHAT WORKING TOGETHER LOOKS LIKE

Every step is meant to help you tune in to what your body is telling you.

A real conversation

Before anything's booked, we get to know each other over email. My questions are meant to help you start noticing what you're feeling, so the work begins right away.

Your sessions

You'll talk about what's coming up for you, then move. Small, slow, intentional movements, much smaller than you'd expect. I won't point out what you're doing “wrong.” Instead, I'll invite you to try something a little differently and notice what changes.

In between

You'll leave each session with a few movements to play with. Not homework to grind through, but small experiments. Pay attention to what you feel, then bring it back next time.

What’s possible now?

Around your sixth session, we'll look back at what you've learned and talk about what's next. Back on the trails, out on the water, getting stronger, or whatever matters most to you.

Most people start with six sessions, about a week apart at first, then spaced out as you go. Your spots are held in the calendar, and sessions can be moved, added, or dropped as needed.

One honest thing before you reach out...

Healing asks something of you.

AN HONEST HEADS-UP

Learning, changing, and healing go hand in hand, and none of them is always comfortable.

Not physically uncomfortable. Many people are surprised by how small and slow a movement needs to be. It can be humbling to meet your body where it really is right now. I see it in almost everyone I work with, and it's often where things start to shift.

Wondering if you're ready to try something again?

That's a fair question, especially if you've invested in a lot of things already. This work is different in that it asks you to take part, and to trust what you feel.

If you're still here, here's what you can look forward to.

☑ Are you curious about how your body works

☑ Want to understand your pain, not just quiet it

☑ Are ready to take an active role

☑ Want to keep doing the things you love

This might be a great fit if you...

✖ Want someone to do the work for you

✖ Are hoping for a quick fix

✖ Have a fresh injury, like a sprained ankle, and want to get back to sport fast (a local clinic is a great place to start)

This might not be the right fit if you...

A body you understand. And trust.

The goal isn't to need me forever, it's for you to become fluent in your own body.

WHAT YOU WALK AWAY WITH

Your pain becomes information

Instead of something to fight or avoid, it starts to feel like a messenger, telling you what's working and what isn't.

You get choices

When you feel that familiar sensation, you'll know your options: keep going, take a break, or try something that helps.

You see connections

You start to understand how the way you move relates to how you feel, and how much of you is part of that.

YOU TRUST YOURSELF

"I want you to trust yourself over me, over anyone."

The movements are just tools. What really changes is your awareness, and that goes with you everywhere.

A little about the person beside you on this journey.

HI, I’M KIRSTEN

Two decades of clinical reasoning. A lot of curiosity.

I've been a physiotherapist for more than 20 years, and I still get excited every time someone discovers something new about their body.

Early in my career, I felt something was missing in focusing only on what was wrong. Yoga therapy gave me a new lens, and I've blended the two ever since, along with Ayurveda, which helps me meet each person where they are. I work with people in their homes across Muskoka and online wherever they live, and I teach in a yoga therapy accreditation program.

Tell me what’s going on, in your own words.

No forms full of checkboxes. Just a conversation about what you're feeling and what matters to you.

I'll reach out by email to learn more and see if working together feels like a good fit. In Ontario, sessions are physiotherapy and may be covered by your extended health insurance (pay at the time of your session, then submit your receipt). Outside Ontario, sessions are yoga therapy. In-home sessions include a travel fee.
